On July 15, 2026, the Ural-2026 sobriety and health rally ended in the village of Mariinsk, Revdinsky district, on the shore of the reservoir.
– The main themes of the meeting, as in previous years, are the life of the Eucharistic community, family as a path to love and joy, sober education and a healthy lifestyle. But this year's rally was marked by many innovations that the organizers hope will become a tradition. I would like to note a significant increase in the number of participants – this year there were more than half a thousand of them. And this is despite the frightening forecasts of thunderstorms and heavy rains, which, by the way, have come true," the organizers summed up. – The geography of the rally has expanded: participants came from the Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen regions, Perm Krai, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, Tatarstan, as well as from the cities of Moscow and Vladimir.
In five days, three Divine Liturgies were celebrated in Mariinsk – the catechetical night Liturgy, on the feast day of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, on the anniversary of the consecration of the new church in honor of St. Spyridon of Trimifunt on July 14. The ascension and consecration of the Holy Gifts on the day of the memory of the silverless and Wonderworkers Cosmas and Damian was performed by the head of the Central Asian Metropolitan District, permanent member of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Vincent of Tashkent and Uzbekistan and Metropolitan Evgeny of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye.
This year, a raft tournament was held at the rally for the first time. A heated battle of rowers broke out on the Mariinsky Pond — 23 teams participated! Only three crews showed up from the Church of St. Nicholas at UGSU, and they took the honorable 1st, 2nd and 4th places.
– The current meeting sets and overcomes its own standards. With God's help, we completed an important task: we wove 15 nets for our soldiers. Thanks to everyone who participated in this! – the organizers shared.
A highlight was the ball, led by Diocesan Master of Ceremonies Alexander Safrygin and his assistant Anastasia Koksharova. The rain unsuccessfully tried to scare the dancers, who were spinning in waltzes and polkas.
The purpose of the meeting is to create conditions for uniting families, adult and children's public associations, teachers, and church parishes in the active affirmation of the basic national values of sobriety, ministry, and education.
Sobriety meetings began to be held in the Yekaterinburg diocese in the early 2000s, then the meeting settled in the Chelyabinsk region on Lake Uvildy, where Orthodox teetotallers from Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and various regions of Russia gathered annually in early July. The site had an international status and annually gathered more than 1,000 people in a sober bandana camp. Since 2018, the sobriety rally has been held on the shore of the Mariinsky Reservoir near Yekaterinburg.
