In the 6th Week after Pentecost, the day of commemoration of the glorious and all-laudable First Apostles Peter and Paul, on July 12, 2026, celebrations on the occasion of the patronal feast took place at the compound of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Moscow.
Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Niphon of Philippopolis, representative of the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, and Bishop Stefan of Remesia, representative of the Patriarch of Serbia to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at Peter and Paul Church on Yauza.
At a special litany, a prayer was offered for Holy Russia.
The church was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Serbia to the Russian Federation Momcilo Babic, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of North Macedonia to the Russian Federation Nenad Kolev, Minister Counsellor of the Serbian Embassy in Moscow G. Bojic.
At the end of the Liturgy, the Apostles Peter and Paul were glorified, and the clergy and choir sang the troparion and kontakion.
The celebration was continued by the rite of blessing and cutting the kolach, which is common in the Balkan countries, when a believer brings bread and wine, as well as koliv for consecration and distribution to all those present in honor of the saint's memorial day or a celebrated holiday.
At the end of the service, the Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations, on behalf of His Holiness Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, and on his own behalf, congratulated all those present on the patronal feast.
In memory of the patronal celebration of the metochion, the DECR chairman presented Bishop Stephen of Remesia with a panagia.
In his greeting to Metropolitan Anthony and Metropolitan Niphon, Bishop Stefan cordially thanked them for their joint prayer on this festive day for the Serbian Metochion. The representative of the Patriarch of Serbia to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia asked Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk to convey his words of gratitude and heartfelt good wishes to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill.
