On July 16-17, 2026, on the 108th anniversary of the spiritual feat of the holy Royal family and their faithful servants, the main divine services of the "Royal Days" were held in the Yekaterinburg diocese - a night Divine Liturgy at the Memorial Church on Blood and a procession to Ganina Yama. Metropolitan Vincent of Tashkent and Uzbekistan conveyed the congratulations of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia to Metropolitan Evgeny of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye and read out the Patriarchal message:
"Your Eminence!
Please accept my heartfelt congratulations on your namesake, along with prayerful wishes for strength and many generosity from the most gracious Lord.
Through the intercession of your heavenly patron, the righteous physician and passion-bearer Eugene, who teaches us love and mercy, may the Almighty grant you rich help in your further episcopal ministry and in fulfilling your assigned obediences, which you hopefully perform for the benefit of the Mother Church."
Vladyka Vincent conveyed his Patriarchal blessing to all the participants of the celebrations and thanked Metropolitan Eugene for his hospitality.
Representatives of the Local Orthodox Churches attached to the Moscow Patriarchal See also congratulated Metropolitan Eugene on his namesake. Metropolitan Niphon of Philippopolis conveyed congratulations on behalf of the Antiochian, Serbian and American Churches. Vladyka Niphon noted the special veneration of the Royal Passion-Bearers in the East and in Serbia, recalling the help of Emperor Nicholas II to the Church of Antioch during difficult years. The representatives of the Churches conveyed to Metropolitan Eugene the blessings of Patriarch John of Antioch, Patriarch Porfiry of Serbia, and Metropolitan Tikhon of All America and Canada, thanking His Eminence for the warm welcome and fraternal hospitality.
During the main divine service of the "Royal Days", prayers were offered in various languages. Believers from various regions of Russia and around the world gathered for the commemorative celebrations in the Ural capital. The service was attended by pilgrims from Italy, France, Germany, Holland, Serbia, Australia, New Zealand, as well as from neighboring countries — Georgia, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Ukraine, etc.
The archpastors offered a prayer for Holy Russia. The sermon before Communion was delivered by the senior priest of the Memorial Church on Blood, Archpriest Maxim Minyailo. The Holy Gifts were taught that night from more than 100 bowls. The Orthodox TV channel Soyuz conducted a live broadcast of the service.
Then, on the night of July 17, the thousands-strong Royal procession was led by Metropolitan Vikenty of Tashkent and Uzbekistan, Metropolitan Evgeny of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye, and other Right Reverend archpastors. The Crusaders completed the 21-kilometer journey in four hours.
Clergy and laity from Yekaterinburg, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Surgut, Ufa, Krasnoufimsk, Verkhnyaya Salda, Verkhnyaya Pyshma and other Russian cities, as well as from countries near and far abroad, including Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, took part in the 20-kilometer prayer procession.
The prayer procession ended with a prayer service to the holy Royal Passion—bearers at the "heart" of the Royal Monastery - mine No. 7.
Metropolitan Vincent thanked all the crusaders for their spiritual feat, for their work "for Christ, for the Kingdom of Christ, for the Royal Passion-bearers." His Eminence noted that the faithful came here today after the completion of the Divine Liturgy at the Church on the Blood in order to "further nourish their souls with the grace of God for the sake of those sufferings and those feats borne by the Royal Passion-bearers." "They have acquired great grace for themselves through the patience of suffering. And now, these days, it is generously given and distributed to everyone," Metropolitan Vikenty emphasized. — The special grace of God that is present at this place testifies that these martyrs were holy people of our Fatherland, and they pray at the throne of God for our health, well-being, and healing of our mental and physical ailments. And God grant that the Lord may accept this work for our healing and cleansing from our sins, and that, seeing this work, He may grant us the Kingdom of God and eternal joy both with Christ and with all the martyrs, the holy Royal Passion—bearers."
Metropolitan Vincent cordially congratulated Vladyka Eugene on his namesake, the day of commemoration of the righteous Evgeny Botkin, a physician who faithfully served the Royal Passion—Bearers, and "through the prayers of this great physician and ascetic of piety" wished strength of mental and physical strength, health and well-being. His Eminence also thanked Metropolitan Eugene "for his hospitality, kindness and love to all of us — the archpastors, pastors and all the people who came to this celebration from different parts of Russia and from other countries of the world."
In response, Metropolitan Evgeny of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye drew the attention of the faithful to portraits of members of the holy Royal family and Evgeny Sergeyevich Botkin. Noting that the monastery's brethren decorated them with white and red flowers, he said: "White is the color of purity, and these flowers reflect the purity of the souls, thoughts, desires, deeds, and life of the Royal Family. The brothers also added red flowers, which symbolize the drops of blood that the Royal family shed in order to preserve this purity before God and before people. We have now "walked" through these drops of blood: the Church on the Blood, in which the Liturgy was celebrated today, then we followed the path along which the bodies of the Royal Passion-Bearers were transported. As the ancient ascetic of faith and piety Tertullian said, the blood of the martyrs is the seeds of the Church. And from the seeds grow new plants, new flowers, which then bear fruit. So, you and I must be the germinated seeds of the saints and live holy ourselves."
The prayer service ended with a birthday to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and all the participants of the prayer procession.
In the morning, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the churches of the monastery. On the memorial day of the holy Royal family and their faithful servants, more and more pilgrims arrived here. During the day, a prayer service is held at the holy cross with the reading of the akathist to the holy Royal Passion-bearers.
