The head of the military department of the Bryansk Diocese, Priest Konstantin Vasiliev, and the driver of the department, Igor Pakhomkin, took part in the delivery of land from the battlefields on the territory of the Bryansk border region as part of the Land of Memory project.
Three shell casings were filled with earth in the area of a special military operation on the border with Sumy region.
Every kilometer of the way in the border area was a place of enemy drone activity and was accompanied by the risk of artillery fire. At one of the combat positions, during the excavation, the group was subjected to mortar fire and only by the grace of God, no one was injured, having managed to jump into cover. The journey back from the war zone was no less stressful. The return to Bryansk with these "witnesses" of the war was the final stage of a complex operation. For Father Konstantin and his driver, this was a personal contribution to preserving the historical truth and the memory of the heroes who gave their lives on the Bryansk land. The shell casings were handed over to representatives of the Yaroslavl, Ivanovo and Saratov regions for eternal storage, becoming part of a common effort to preserve historical truth and the memory of fallen heroes.
The event was timed to coincide with the Day of Reunification of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions with Russia, which is celebrated on September 30.
