On Sunday, May 31, 2026, on the feast of the Holy Trinity, a festive divine service was held for the Russian Orthodox community in the capital of the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The service at St. Nicholas Church of the Antiochian Orthodox Church was led by Archimandrite Alexander (Zarkeshev), rector of St. Philip the Apostle Church in Sharjah, and co-served by Deacon Alexy Kostin. Liturgical hymns were performed by the choirs of the Church of St. Philip the Apostle.
Many of the parishioners gathered for the festive service came to Holy Communion.
On this day, the special kneeling prayers of St. Basil the Great, read on Trinity, were performed in the church. Archimandrite Alexander also delivered a sermon on the celebrated holiday, congratulating the audience on the birthday of the Church of Christ.
