Work continues on the translation of the Gospel into the Yukaghir language

On October 6, 2026, the Inter-Diocesan Training Center for Church Specialists of the Yakut Diocese held a regular meeting on the translation of the Gospel of Luke into the Yukaghir language. 
The meeting was attended by the head of the missionary department of the Yakut Diocese, Hieromonk Tikhon (Vorobyov), who coordinates the work of the translation group; on the part of the Bible Translation Institute, the theological editor of the translation, Priest Sergiy Shilov, a teacher at the Nikolo—Ugresh Seminary, and linguist Lena Toento, a native speaker. 
At the moment, with the blessing of Archbishop Roman of Yakutsk and Lena, work is underway on the translation of the Christmas Story based on the Gospel of Luke, including the scenes of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the meeting of the Virgin Mary with the Righteous Elizabeth, the Nativity of Christ and the Presentation of the Lord.
