With the assistance of the Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission, a special assistance center for local residents was opened on the basis of the St. Joasaph of Belgorod Spiritual and Educational Center in the city of Grayvoron, Belgorod region, as part of the "Room of Kindness" project.
Everyone in need can get the necessary things here, recharge their phone in the absence of electricity, warm up food, drink hot tea, and put medicines in the refrigerator that require special temperature storage conditions.
At the request of Bishop Abel of Gubkin and Grayvoron, the Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission handed over household appliances and a generator to the Spiritual and Educational Center, which made it possible to expand the range of assistance provided.
Before the work of the point began, the dean of the Grayvoronsky church district of the Gubkin diocese, Archpriest Andrei Kolesnikov, performed a prayer service for the beginning of a good deed. Representatives of the Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission regularly visit Grayvoron as part of the development of assistance to residents of the shelled areas of the Belgorod region.
The Russian Orthodox Church has been helping civilians in Donbass and Novorossiya since February 2022. There are 12 church aid centers operating in the border areas and the conflict zone, which have processed over 410,000 requests. More than 4,370 tons of humanitarian aid have been transferred to the victims. More than 7,900 volunteers participated in helping the victims. As part of the project to restore private housing for those in need in the conflict zone, 827 private homes have been restored. Volunteer priests travel in shifts to 45 hospitals in the territory of Donbass, Novorossiya and the border regions. The Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission coordinates the Church's assistance in the regions of the SVR zone. Together with the Synodal Department for Charity, a service is working to help veterans of the SVR and their loved ones.
