The transfer of the miraculous Donskoy Icon of the Mother of God from the Cathedral Cathedral of Christ the Savior to the Donskoy Stavropol Monastery in Moscow took place on August 3, 2026.
In the small cathedral of the Donskoy Monastery, the icon was greeted by Metropolitan Theognost of Kashira, chairman of the Synodal Department for Monasteries and Monasticism, vicar of the Donskoy Stavropol Monastery, Bishop Alexy of Ramenskoye, personal secretary of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, Archpriest Alexander Farkovets, dean of the Donskoy district of the Moscow (city) diocese, the metropolitan clergy, and the monastery's brethren in holy orders.
After bringing the icon, the akathist to the Don Icon of the Mother of God was read. Soldiers of the Semyonovsky regiment's conscription service stood guard of honor. The icon was installed for worship in the Small Cathedral of the Donskoy Monastery.
In the Small Cathedral, Liturgy is celebrated every day, with the exception of Sundays and holidays, at 8.30, and evening worship at 16.45. Prayer services with akathists to the Don Icon of the Mother of God are also held daily from 11:00 to 16:30 at the icon. The brethren of the monastery invite the clergy and laity to visit the Donskoy monastery and worship the miraculous image.
