On October 6, 2024, the Macedonian Orthodox Church marked the 25th anniversary of the enthronement of Archbishop Stefan of Ohrid and Macedonia. The celebrations took place during a liturgy led by Archbishop Stefan at the Cathedral of Saint Clement of Ohrid in Skopje. The event also honored the Feast of All Macedonian Saints.

The service was attended by high-ranking clergy, including metropolitans and bishops from various dioceses, along with prominent guests such as the President of North Macedonia, Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, and other officials.

Following the liturgy, Archbishop Stefan delivered a speech, expressing gratitude and offering spiritual guidance to the faithful. The day continued with the presentation of new volumes from the Archbishop's collection of sermons, titled Words for Word, at the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle for Independence. Bishop Nikola and theology professor Milan Djordjevic led the event, providing theological and literary commentary on the works.

The celebration concluded with a formal dinner at the Marriott Hotel, where Russia's ambassador to North Macedonia, Sergey Bazdnikin, extended congratulations on behalf of the Russian Orthodox Church. Messages from Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and Metropolitan Anthony, head of the ROC’s Department for External Church Relations, were also read during the event.

The Macedonian Orthodox Church's autocephaly was officially recognized by the Russian Orthodox Church on August 25, 2022, following the Serbian Orthodox Church's recognition earlier that year. The two churches celebrated their first joint liturgy on May 19, 2022, in Belgrade, marking the end of decades of separation since the Macedonian Church declared its independence in 1967.
