Spiritual care and financial support for military personnel who defend the borders of the Bryansk region are key areas of activity of the military department of the Bryansk Diocese.
With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Bryansk and Sevsk, the head of the military department of the Bryansk Diocese, Priest Konstantin Vasiliev, rector of the Church of the Holy Martyr John the Warrior in Bryansk, made a pastoral trip to the tank division of the North group of forces.
A prayer service was held at the battle positions for the granting of victory to the Russian army. The locations of the personnel and military equipment were consecrated. Everyone had the opportunity to talk with the priest, ask questions of concern and receive spiritual guidance.
As always, Father Konstantin did not arrive empty-handed. Camouflage nets, trench candles, medicines, personal hygiene products, food, homemade preserves, homemade bacon and a wide range of confectionery products were delivered to the units. The children's letters and drawings brought with them were particularly gratifying. At the request of the commander, fishing and shading nets were handed over, which are successfully used to repel enemy drones.
In his pastoral address, Priest Konstantin Vasiliev addressed the tankers with deep gratitude for their selfless service to the Motherland, for their courage and loyalty to military duty. He blessed the soldiers for further military work, wishing them fortitude, God's help and a speedy return home with victory.
The commanders and personnel of the unit expressed gratitude to Metropolitan Alexander and the military priests of the Bryansk diocese for the spiritual strengthening of the military personnel and the financial assistance provided.
The Bryansk Diocese expresses its gratitude to the parishioners of the Church of the Holy Martyr John the Warrior, the volunteer movement of the villages of Michurinsky and Utopka, the employees of the Granat shopping center and everyone who contributes to the formation of humanitarian supplies for our defenders. Special thanks to Igor Sergeyevich Pakhomkin from the military Department of the Bryansk Diocese for his efforts to deliver humanitarian supplies to combat positions. I bow low to everyone for their help and concern during this difficult time for our country.
