On August 18, 37 children from the Lugansk People's Republic arrived at St. John the Theologian Monastery in the Ryazan diocese. A short rest, a delicious lunch and a leisurely but memorable tour of the monastery with visits to temples and bell towers were organized for the young guests. Archpriest Maxim Bobrov, Chairman of the Social Department of the Ryazan Diocese, coordinated the trip and accompanied the group.
The trip became part of the social project "Childhood. Ryazan. Vacations", which is being implemented in the Ryazan region with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund. Its goal is to help children from families of combatants in Donbas to undergo comprehensive rehabilitation. The project involves children between the ages of 8 and 15; they live in the Kiritsy sanatorium and will stay in the region until August 29.
The special feature of the program is in a special atmosphere: the sanatorium is located in a beautiful old estate surrounded by a picturesque park and forest. The organizers are confident that such an entourage will help children escape from the stress they have experienced.
The rehabilitation program includes three areas: psychological support, spa treatment and cultural and educational events, as well as master classes. An important task is to introduce the children to the history and culture of Russia and help them overcome established stereotypes.
