"Perseverance, patience and rejection of harmful habits are the first steps to introspection and serious inner work."
With these words, the head of the military department of the Vladivostok Diocese, Priest Pavel Moiseev, opened the officer triathlon championship of the Eastern Military District. Participants from garrisons from Buryatia to Sakhalin competed in Makarov pistol shooting, swimming and running.
The Christian understanding of inner life is inseparable from strict self-discipline. It is impossible to overcome sin and spiritual relaxation if a person is unable to control his own body. The ability to methodically go to the goal, endure fatigue on the cross-country or keep cool on the firing line forges the will. And the will, subordinated to reason, is the main tool in the fight against passions.
