On the 3rd Week after Pentecost, June 21, 2026, the feast of the Council of Belarusian Saints, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, who had arrived the day before on a Primatial visit to the Republic of Belarus, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Resurrection Cathedral in Brest.
The service was broadcast live on the TV channels Belarus-3, Belarus-4 (Brest), Spas, Soyuz. On the official website of the Russian Orthodox Church Патриархия.ги The broadcast was carried out with the technical support of the Live Broadcast Service of the Belarusian Exarchate. Some of the faithful prayed during the Liturgy, watching the broadcast on large screens installed on the square in front of the cathedral.
At the funeral litany, the archdeacon offered petitions for the repose of "the ever-memorable leaders and soldiers who laid down their lives on the battlefield for faith and the Fatherland, and for all those who died prematurely from hunger, cold, wounds and diseases during the Great Patriotic War, and who suffered terrible suffering and martyrdom in enemy captivity."
Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslavl greeted His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and presented His Holiness with a facsimile edition of the 15th-century Gospel of the Minsk Holy Spirit Monastery. The publication was prepared for the Primate's visit by the Publishing Council of the Belarusian Exarchate in cooperation with the Russian National Library (St. Petersburg).
Then the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church was greeted by Archbishop John of Brest and Kobrin, who presented His Holiness with an icon depicting the Venerable Martyr Athanasius of Brest and the Kupyatitskaya Icon of the Mother of God.
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill addressed the participants of the divine service with a Primatial address.
As a gift to the Resurrection Cathedral, His Holiness gave the image of Christ the Savior, and the Passion Gospels for the churches of the Brest diocese. The Primate presented two panagia and a cross to Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslavl, and a commemorative panagia to Archbishop John of Brest and Kobrin.
All participants of the service were presented with icons of the Mother of God of Smolensk with the Patriarchal blessing.
In conclusion, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill inspected the photo exhibition "Liturgy with the Patriarch", organized in the Sunday school building at the Resurrection Cathedral.

The Resurrection Cathedral, built in honor of the 50th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, is the largest church in Brest and one of the largest in the country.
The height of the cathedral to the base of the cross is 41 meters, the height of the bell tower is 47.5 meters. The total area of the upper Resurrection Church is over 700 square meters, the lower Kazan Church is 550 square meters. The Upper Resurrection Church freely accommodates more than two thousand worshippers under its arches, and the Kazan Church accommodates up to one and a half thousand people.
The builder and first rector of the Resurrection Cathedral was Archpriest Evgeny Parfenyuk (1921-2008).
The rite of consecration of the foundation stone of the temple was performed on July 26, 1992 by Archbishop Konstantin (Khomich) of Brest and Kobrin. The consecration of the altar of the lower church in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God was performed in 1995 by the Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, Metropolitan Filaret of Minsk and Slutsk. In the same year, during his second visit to Belarus, His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia visited the cathedral under construction together with President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, who greatly contributed to the construction of the memorial church. The primate prayed in the Kazan church, blessed the construction and donated an expensive embossed vestment to the Kazan throne. On June 24, 2001, His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II consecrated the upper Resurrection Church.
In 2001, a 400-kilogram bell was installed in the cathedral.
On June 4, 2008, Archpriest Vladimir Kornelyuk was appointed rector of the Resurrection Cathedral.
On June 21, 2015, during his Primatial visit to the Belarusian Exarchate, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the cathedral.
