On June 21, 2026, the parish of the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God "Burning Bush" in Otradnoye organized an excursion to the Marfo-Mariinsky Monastery of Mercy for international students. The guests visited the house museum of Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna, and then went to the monastery itself, which is closely connected with her life and work.
The heart of the monastery is the Pokrovsky Cathedral, designed by architect Alexei Shchusev. The students' special attention was attracted by the murals of the interior, created by the artist Mikhail Nesterov.
During the tour, the students were told about the life of the family of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II, whose fate is intertwined with the history of the monastery and Elizabeth Feodorovna herself.
The tour for the students was not only an educational trip, but also an introduction to the cultural and spiritual heritage of Russia.

March 14, 2026 marks the 50th anniversary of the episcopal consecration of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill. This is not merely a personal jubilee, but a date of profound significance for the fullness of the Church as a whole, because episcopal consecration is the moment of assuming a special responsibility for the people of God and a witness to the Church’s fidelity to apostolic succession. The calling of the future Primate to episcopal ministry was formally established by a resolution of the Holy Synod in early March 1976; on the eve of the consecration, the rite of nomination took place, and on March 14—on the Sunday of the Triumph of Orthodoxy—at the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra, Archimandrite Kirill (Gundyaev), rector of the Leningrad theological schools, was consecrated Bishop of Vyborg.

By the decision of His Holiness Patriarch Pimen and the Holy Synod of March 3, 1976, Archimandrite Kirill (Gundyaev), rector of the Leningrad Theological Academy and Seminary, was elected Bishop of Vyborg, vicar of the Leningrad Diocese.

Exactly 50 years ago, on March 13, 1976, at the Church of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian at the Leningrad Theological Academy, the rite of nomination took place; and on the following day, March 14, the First Sunday of Great Lent, the Feast of the Triumph of Orthodoxy, during the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra in Leningrad, the episcopal consecration of Archimandrite Kirill — the future Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’ — was performed. The service was presided over by the ever-memorable Metropolitan Nikodim (Rotov), whom His Holiness Patriarch Kirill calls his spiritual mentor and teacher.
