The dean of the Primorsky District, Archpriest Vladimir Novikov, performed divine services in churches on the White Sea coast.
On the Summer Shore, the priest visited Pertominsk, Yarenga, Lopsheng.
He celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Peter and Paul Church in Lopshenga village. On the day of the finding of the relics of the Venerable Vassian and Jonah of Pertominsk in the chapel church of the village of Pertominsk, Father Vladimir celebrated a water prayer, Divine Liturgy and a procession through the territory of the destroyed Transfiguration Monastery of Pertominsk. In Yareng, the dean prayed in the chapel erected at the place where the relics of John and Longinus of Yareng were found.
On the Winter shore of the White Sea, in the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Verkhnyaya Zolotitsa, the dean celebrated the Divine Liturgy. Father Vladimir also visited the Church of the Nativity of Christ in the village of Kuya, where emergency work is continuing this year.
Recall that the White Sea has two special sections of the coast — the Summer and Winter shores. The summer coast is located in the southern part of the sea, west of the Dvina Bay. It extends from the mouth of the Northern Dvina to Cape Ukhtnavolok (on the Onega Peninsula). The Winter Coast stretches east from the Dvinsk Bay, from the mouth of the Northern Dvina to Cape Voronov. Their main difference is in their geographical location and, as a result, in their climate and nature. The summer coast is located to the west, and the sea warms up better here in summer, forming a milder, wetter microclimate. The winter coast is located to the east, and the climate here is harsher. The names of the shores are associated with the ancient crafts that the Pomeranians carried out here — summer and winter.
