This week, the sisters of mercy of the Orthodox relief service "White Sails" began their service at the military hospital in Bryansk. This was the first step in the development of a new area of activity for the service.
The first meeting was introductory in nature. The sisters met with the chief physician of the hospital and senior nurses, who spoke about the organization of the institution and identified the main areas in which volunteers can provide assistance.
Currently, the hospital is in particular need of hand help. The sisters of Mercy will assist the medical staff in caring for patients and in solving daily tasks.
Next week, it is planned to organize haircuts for military personnel, since now many of them do not have the opportunity to put themselves in order.
For the sisters of mercy, this is a new and responsible area of service. The sisters are supported by the project "Safe Harbor: School of caring for those who care", which helps those who serve their neighbors on a daily basis to preserve inner strength and prevent emotional burnout.
We ask for prayers for the sisters of mercy who are taking the first steps in this important matter, and we also invite everyone to join the sisterhood of mercy of the Orthodox relief service "White Sails".
