With the blessing of Metropolitan Vladimir of Donetsk and Mariupol, training courses for junior nurses in the care of seriously ill and people with limited mobility were opened in Mariupol on June 25, 2026.
The training takes place on the basis of the Mariupol boarding school with geriatric department No. 1.
The courses are organized by the Training Center of the Central Clinical Hospital of St. Alexy, Metropolitan of Moscow. The opening of the class was made possible thanks to the assistance of the chief physician of the hospital, A.Y. Zarov. The on-site organization and support of the training is carried out by the rector of the church of the Martyr Tatiana in Mariupol, Priest David Krasulin.
The project was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the DPR.
The participants of the courses, future sisters of mercy, receive theoretical and practical training. The sisterhood itself as a community will be organized upon graduation, but in the meantime, students are learning key skills: proper patient movement, bedridden feeding, hygiene procedures, and positioning. Attention is also paid to the spiritual component of care — mercy, patience and attention to each ward.
Upon completion of the course, graduates will be able to carry out their ministry in a boarding school and other institutions in the city and region.
