His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, who arrived on July 20, 2026 on a Primatial visit to the Tatarstan Metropolis, visited the Peter and Paul Cathedral in Kazan. This year marks the 300th anniversary of this cathedral, which is one of the most famous architectural monuments and spiritual symbols of the capital of Tatarstan. 
At the cathedral, His Holiness was greeted by students of the Sunday school at the Peter and Paul Cathedral.
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill proceeded to the altar of the church and ascended to the pulpit, where Metropolitan Kirill of Kazan and Tatarstan greeted the Primate and presented His Holiness with an icon depicting the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.
His Holiness addressed the audience in the cathedral with a Primatial address: "It was with a special feeling that I entered the shadow of this cathedral, a truly remarkable historical temple in the city of Kazan. When you look at these temples, which have gone through an era of ruin and destruction of shrines, you realize how much the power of God is stronger than the power of man. Those human forces that set themselves the task of destroying religious faith in our country have disappeared, but you and I exist — we are like the Church of God. Temples are being restored, restored, and new ones are being built.
Why? Because the power of God is stronger than the power of man. And the great mistake of people who do not believe in God is that they do not rely on God's power. You may be smart and educated, but your capabilities are limited by the capabilities of the human body, mind, will, and feelings. And when you attract the power of God through prayer, your powers multiply many times and the necessary results are achieved.
I would like to thank the local authorities for their kind attitude towards Orthodoxy, which exists here not for any political reasons, but because there is a full awareness of the importance of the fact (especially where Orthodox and Muslims live together) that these good relations, formed throughout our history, and now, in It is a difficult time for our Fatherland, and we must strengthen ourselves. And if that happens, it means that our state and our people will strengthen. And the force will increase, capable of reflecting any enemy force.
These are the thoughts that come to mind as soon as you enter the land of Kazan. Especially when you see such splendor as this cathedral.… What we see here on this earth today, the good relations and interaction between Orthodox Christians and Muslims, is an example for many other places around the world where conflict situations sometimes continue to arise (fortunately, not in our country).
May God grant that the spiritual forces, the intellectual forces of our people, and the political forces of our state work together today for the benefit of our Fatherland and for the benefit of every human being. The Church prays that this will be the case, and takes maximum part in ensuring that relations between people involved in politics and business develop in this way, so that our Fatherland can be strengthened through these good human relations."
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill donated an icon of the Blessed Matrona of Moscow to the Peter and Paul Cathedral.
Icons of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker with the Patriarchal blessing were given to all those present.
Then His Holiness venerated the relics of Metropolitan Ephraim of Kazan, who had crowned Mikhail Fedorovich Romanov in 1613. Saint Ephraim has long been revered by the Orthodox inhabitants of Kazan.
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill examined the Ephraim Gospel, which is currently in the Peter and Paul Cathedral. This Gospel is one of the main and most valuable exhibits of the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Then the Primate of the Russian Church got acquainted with the exposition on the territory of the cathedral, which presents the works of pupils of the recreation center for the disabled "Dream", and addressed the children with a parting word, in which he shared his thoughts on the most important life values.
At the same time, the Primate emphasized faith as the basis of well-being.: "But most importantly, as Patriarch, I must say: in order for everything to be good, keep faith in God. Because it is the Lord who makes our lives happy. And I'm not saying this because I'm a Patriarch, but because I know a lot of human destinies, when people had great opportunities to achieve happiness, it didn't work out. It didn't work out because they violated God's moral law. And they violated it because they didn't believe in God."
His Holiness handed over icons of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker with the Patriarchal blessing to all the pupils of the Dream Center.
