On the feast day of St. Onufriy the Great, June 25, 2026, His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilus III of Jerusalem celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Convent of St. Onufriy the Great (Patriarchate of Jerusalem) in Jerusalem.
His Beatitude was co—served by the hierarchs of the Jerusalem Patriarchate - Secretary General of the Jerusalem Patriarchate Archbishop Aristarchus of Constantinople and Archbishop Philumen of Pella; clerics of the Holy Sepulchre Brotherhood; Greek- and Arabic-speaking clergy of the Jerusalem Orthodox Church.
Hieromonk Peter (Borodulin), a resident of the Mission, took part in the divine service from the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, according to the website of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Archbishop Methodius of Tabor, the sisters of Onufrievsky and other women's monasteries of the Jerusalem Patriarchate, the sisters of the Russian Gornensky Monastery, representatives of the local Orthodox Greek and Arab communities, Russian-speaking believers of the Holy City and surrounding towns, as well as pilgrims from different parts of the Holy Land prayed during the Liturgy.
The divine service was conducted in Greek, Arabic, and Church Slavonic. The Gospel was read in Greek and Church Slavonic.
The liturgical hymns were performed by the choir of the Holy Sepulchre Brotherhood.
After the communion verse, Patriarch Theophilus delivered a sermon.
After the Liturgy, the council of hierarchs and clergy, monastics and laity went to the grave of the nun of the monastery, Seraphim Euthymiades, where the liturgy was celebrated. Then, at the grave of the monastery's founder, Hieromonk Kirill, Patriarch Theophilus read a prayer for the blessing of the firstfruits.
