On October 9, 2024, Bishop Euthymius of Lukhovitsky, vicar of the monastery, chairman of the Synodal Missionary Department, consecrated a mobile chapel in honor of Elijah the Prophet at the Vysoko-Petrovsky Stavropol Monastery in Moscow. It was created at the Nizhny Novgorod plant at the suggestion of the initiative group of the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra and with the participation of iconographer Arkady Kholopov and the head of the medical evacuation service Vladimir Berg.
As part of a humanitarian convoy, the chapel will be delivered to the location of the 91st Brigade of the Airborne Troops of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, from where it will begin its procession through the units located in the area of its own, in close proximity to the front line.
This is the third mobile chapel that will be sent to the SVO zone for the care of military personnel on the line of contact. The first two were placed in cars. The third chapel, taking into account the wishes of military personnel and military clergy, is made on the basis of a trailer, which increases its mobility, allows you to quickly evacuate from a dangerous place and significantly increases cross-country traffic in places where there are no highways.
Bishop Euthymius also consecrated the icons of St. Sergius of Radonezh, a gift from the clergy of the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra to the paratroopers.
After the service, Bishop Yefimiy talked with servicemen of the 91st Airborne Brigade and representatives of the initiative group of the Holy Trinity St. Sergius Lavra.
