On Wednesday of Holy Week, April 23, 2025, the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Metropolitan Konstantin of Zaraisk, visited the church in honor of Saints Zosima and Savvati Solovetsky in Hopefield, South Africa.
The bishop was accompanied by Archpriest Daniel Lugovoy, dean of the churches of the South African Diocese in South Africa, and Priest Nikolai Esterhazen, rector of the parish of St. John of the Ladder in Cape Town, with parishioners.
Metropolitan Konstantin performed the rite of minor consecration of the temple.
At the end of the service, the Patriarchal Exarch addressed the audience with an archpastoral address and presented the icon of the Solovetsky Wonderworkers as a gift to the temple. All the worshippers received an Easter egg as a gift.
On the same day, Metropolitan Konstantin visited the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord under construction in Tulbakh, where he offered a prayer for the successful completion of construction. The Patriarchal exarch also visited the chapel of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Tulbakh, where he celebrated and prayed to the saint.
The temples and chapel are attributed to the parish of St. John of the Ladder in Cape Town, whose rector is Priest Nikolai Esterhazen.
