A prayer service before going to the front lines, thirty communicants and two newly baptized soldiers — this is how marine units prepare for combat missions in the combat zone.
Military priest Archpriest Yevgeny Chumachenko shared hours of preparation for battle with the soldiers in the Kursk area. The pastor performed a prayer service for Holy Russia and sprinkled holy water on the formation. After individual conversations, the priest gave each of them crosses, belts, prayer books and chevrons with the faces of St. Alexander Nevsky.
