On Sunday, November 14, 2021, after the Divine Liturgy, Alexander Yusifov gave a gift to the Holy Dormition Cathedral in Vladimir — a Gospel, dating back to the early 17th century. The precious gift was accepted by Metropolitan Tikhon of Vladimir and Suzdal, who officiated the Liturgy.

Approximately 100 years ago the Holy Book was taken from the Cathedral, together with other sacred objects, under a communist government program of confiscating the Church's valuables. Now it has been returned to where it originally belonged – the Holy Dormition cathedral in Vladimir.

The cathedral was erected in 1158 to 1160, and expanded in 1185 to 1189 to reflect the growing prestige of Vladimir. At 1178 square meters, with six pillars and five domes, it remained the largest church in Russia for several centuries. Its exterior walls are covered with elaborate carvings. The interior was painted in the 12th century and then repainted by the famous Andrei Rublev and Daniel Chernyi in 1408. Now it is part of a World Heritage Site — the White Monuments of Vladimir and Suzdal.

For some time the cathedral served as a burial place for rulers of the Vladimir and Suzdal principality. It survived the great devastation and fire of Vladimir in 1239, when the Mongol hordes took hold of the capital.

In the 1470s, Aristotle Fioravanti designed the Dormition cathedral in the Moscow Kremlin to be much like the Dormition Cathedral in Vladimir.
