On October 29, 2026, a training class at St. Alexy's Hospital was opened at the Church of St. John the Warrior in Vladikavkaz. Here, nurses and volunteers will learn professional care for the wounded and seriously ill.
The class was opened jointly with the Vladikavkaz Diocese with the support of the Christian Charity Foundation. It was equipped on the model of a hospital ward, so that students could practice their skills in conditions close to real ones. The class was consecrated by Archbishop Gerasim of Vladikavkaz and Alan.
On the opening day, 15 people who had previously completed a theoretical course on the online platform of St. Alexy's Hospital started practical classes. After training, they will be able to help with the care of hospital patients.
Training in Vladikavkaz will now take place regularly. At the beginning of the year, almost 30 people had already completed visiting courses for hospital teachers. The sisters of the local sisterhood in the name of the Holy and Blessed Princess Maria Yasyn help the wounded, and nine of them completed a week-long internship at the palliative care unit of St. Alexy's Hospital in Moscow in October.
The new class became the 28th in the network of the Church Hospital Training Center. Since 2018, the center has trained more than 9,500 volunteers and nurses. Upon completion of their studies, graduates receive a certificate of profession assignment "junior nurse in nursing."
