On October 30, 2026, the winner of the review competition "The Best Cossack Cadet Corps" was awarded at the State Kremlin Palace. This year it became the Kropotkin Cossack Cadet Corps named after the Hero of the Russian Federation Gennady Troshev from the Krasnodar Territory.
The passing banner of the President of Russia was presented to the director of the corps Viktor Ryba by Dmitry Mironov, assistant to the head of state, Chairman of the Presidential Council for the Cossacks. The ataman of the All—Russian Cossack Society, Vitaly Kuznetsov, presented the corps with a rolling cup, and the First Deputy Minister of Education of Russia, Alexander Bugaev, presented the winner's diploma.
The ceremony was attended by Bishop Stefan of Tikhoretsky and Korenovsky and representatives of the Synodal Committee for Cooperation with the Cossacks. The bishop noted the long-term work of teachers and mentors who introduce pupils to military discipline, Cossack traditions and the Orthodox faith.
An icon of the Lord Almighty and books for the library were handed over to the corps from the Synodal Committee. "I am sure that the passing banner of the President of the Russian Federation will become a symbol of the highest trust for the corps, and the image of the Savior will be a reminder of our responsibility before God," said Bishop Stefan.
The review competition has been held by the Ministry of Education of Russia since 2010 with the assistance of the Presidential Council for the Cossacks. This year, ten buildings from five regions participated in the final in St. Petersburg. The Kropotkin Corps was founded in 2008, and today it has 200 cadets.
