In the Tanzanian district of Kilosa, at the Parish of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the village of Kimamba, a Divine Liturgy took place on January 21st. The service was conducted by the dean, Father Laurentiy Sakva, a priest of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa.

Following the Liturgy, Father Laurentiy, at the request of the parishioners, consecrated the cornfields, as reported by the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa.

The community of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Kimamba was expelled from its church in 2022 after joining the Russian Orthodox Church. Currently, services are held in a temporary space arranged by the parishioners. However, the community is now in the process of constructing a new church building, with construction commencing in August 2023.

The Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa of the Russian Orthodox Church initiated its mission in Tanzania in 2021, officially obtaining registration in January of the current year. Prayer books in Swahili were published for Tanzanian believers. Additionally, an educational center was established in the Tanzanian city of Kisarawe, where teenagers from priestly families receive instruction. Courses have also commenced in Dar es Salaam, covering general subjects, Russian language, and the fundamentals of Orthodoxy.
