The Synodal Department for Church Charity and Social Service summed up the results of the online campaign of family traditions, which was held as part of the All-Russian Family Week. The winners were 40 participants of the action: 20 families and 20 organizations. They will receive gift sets, which will also include a collection of "Family Traditions". The collection was published by the Synodal Department for Charity with the support of the international grant competition "Orthodox Initiative — 2026". It includes the best stories and traditions of the winners of the online promotion.
"We have been holding the online campaign of family traditions for the third year now as part of the All-Russian Family Week, which aims, among other things, to support families, their traditions, and help find new generational bonds to strengthen relationships and peace in the family," said Svetlana Cherenkova, head of the Family assistance department of the Synodal Department of Charity. — Every year, the participants surprise us with their family stories. They share the traditions of celebrating the Bright Resurrection of Christ, Victory Day and other holidays, and share their family customs, including traditional dishes and traditions passed down from generation to generation. It feels like it helps families a lot to maintain unity, brings them together and brings joy, which is often lacking in everyday family life."
This year, as part of the online campaign, more than 200 participants from all over the country shared their traditions, acquired new ones and fulfilled the conditions of the campaign.
"The day of "Family — the bond of generations" is behind us, but warm memories remain. In our family, the tradition is simple, but very sincere: be sure to visit my grandmother for a repechage. These fragrant pies are like a portal to childhood: family gatherings, jokes, stories from the past and a sense of real comfort are immediately recalled," said Alexandra Khaitova, a participant in the action from the Udmurt Republic.
"Many families have their own special traditions, and Sunday pizza is probably one of our favorites. It's not just food, but a tradition that has been uniting us for several years. Every Sunday we gather to cook this delicious dish together. It's a time when we can chat, share the news, and just enjoy each other's company. While the pizza is baking in the oven, we discuss the plans for the week, laugh and joke. The aroma of fresh pastries fills the whole house, creating an atmosphere of comfort and warmth. Then we sit down at the table and enjoy the result of our joint work. Sunday pizza is not only a delicious dish, but also a symbol of family unity and warmth. This is a tradition that makes our weekends special and memorable," said Olesya Bogatenko, an activist from the Novgorod region.
The online campaign of family traditions was held with the support of the international grant competition "Orthodox Initiative-2026".
