The parish of the Trinity Church and the staff of the village school joined forces to hold the event. 
On the day of the repose of St. Sergius of Radonezh, Priest Alexy Fedyanin, rector of the Trinity Church in Zaprudskoye village, Kashirsky district, visited Zaprudskaya Secondary School. He performed a prayer service, which was attended by the head of the Zaprudsky rural settlement Alexei Viktorovich Nesterov, representatives of the educational institution's management, teachers, students and their parents. 
In his sermon, Father Alexy reminded the audience of the life of St. Sergius of Radonezh, the Heavenly patron saint of teachers and students, a speedy helper and a zealous prayer book for the Russian land, who once blessed Prince Dimitri Donskoy at the Battle of Kulikovo. 
At the end of the service, the priest gave a pastoral blessing to the audience, thanked the school administration for the invitation, and performed the first full consecration of the classrooms. The temple icon of the Holy Trinity and the icon of St. Sergius of Radonezh were carried to all classes with prayer hymns. 
In the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, the parish of the temple and the school staff joined the spiritual and patriotic charity event "Trees of Memory". Priest Alexy Fedyanin, in the presence of the leadership and teachers, consecrated the tree–planting site in prayerful memory of the defenders of the Fatherland, the living and the dead, and those who defended and defend the borders of our earthly Fatherland.
Members of the "Russian Community" of Voronezh, led by O.A. Kalashnikov, provided 40 cedar seedlings for planting in the villages of Zaprudskoye and Krasny Log on a charitable basis – and not only handed them over, but also participated in the memorable event themselves, together with children and teachers. On this day, the Lord granted wonderful weather favorable for tree planting. 
– A tree is not a slab or a stone: it lives, grows and gets taller every year. Similarly, the memory of the defenders should not remain a fixed date in the calendar – it is designed to grow with those to whom it is passed on. That's why today's event is aimed primarily at children. The joy of work, prayer directed to Heaven, and a tree planted by oneself – all this together teaches that the memory of heroes and concern for the future are one common cause. Let the cedars grow, as the grateful memory of the people of those who gave their lives for the Fatherland grows, and as the children who planted them grow in faith and love for their native land," said Father Alexy.
