On October 2, in the village of Esso, Bystrinsky municipal District of the Kamchatka Territory, the opening of the memorial complex "To the Brave Soldiers of the SVR" took place. The monument was erected as a sign of gratitude to fellow countrymen who showed courage in the performance of military duty.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of local authorities and Cossacks, cadets, yunarmeyts, schoolchildren and villagers. The rector of the church in honor of the Uncreated Image of the Lord Jesus Christ, Archpriest Vladislav Revenok, performed the rite of blessing the monument and a short prayer service for the soldiers — defenders of the Fatherland.
The initiators of the creation of the memorial were Denis Molchanov, a Cossack from Bystrinskaya Stanitsa, and Svetlana Komarova and the late Vladimir Zhuravlev, residents of Esso.
The ceremony participants noted the importance of preserving the memory of the dead and supporting the families of military personnel. Those gathered laid a garland and flowers at the monument, honored the memory of the fallen with a prayer for repose and a minute of silence.
