On September 24, a regional meeting of volunteers and sisters of mercy helping in the conflict zone took place in the Blue Hall of the St. Petersburg Diocesan Administration. 
The meeting participants discussed the humanitarian situation in Donbas and the assistance of volunteers to the injured civilians. Today, volunteers from the Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission are rebuilding destroyed private homes, caring for lonely people at home, and helping hospital staff in the conflict zone.
Awards from the Synodal Department of Charity were also presented during the meeting. Sabina Danilova, a volunteer from St. Petersburg, was awarded the St. Filaret the Merciful Medal of the third degree. For more than a year, she regularly traveled to Donetsk to coordinate the work of social volunteers. The same award was given to Gleb Ilyinsky, the host of the "SOYUZ" TV channel, who traveled to the volunteer service sites several times and prepared materials about their work.
Diana Zhuravleva, a volunteer, and Priest Viktor Dudkin, a cleric of the St. Petersburg Diocese, received letters of thanks from the Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission. Father Victor has been remotely interviewing construction volunteers for several years and was the head of one of the Mission's assistance centers in Mariupol.
At the end of the meeting, the volunteers shared their experience of serving in Mariupol, Donetsk, Tokmak, Skadovsk, Severodonetsk and other cities of the conflict zone.
The Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission was established by the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church with the aim of coordinating and systematically developing assistance to civilians in the Donetsk People's Republic, Luhansk People's Republic, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions, as well as providing assistance to the wounded.
There are 12 Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission assistance centers in the border areas, Moscow and the conflict zone, where over 423,000 requests have been processed. More than 4,400 tons of humanitarian aid were delivered to the victims. More than 8,200 volunteers participated in helping the victims. As part of the project to restore private housing for those in need in the conflict zone, 860 private homes have been restored. Volunteer priests travel in shifts to 45 hospitals in the conflict zone. Together with the Synodal Department for Charity, a service is working to help veterans of the SVR and their loved ones.
