The Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslavl, visited the Republican Clinical Center for Palliative Care for Children on September 24. The visit was timed to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the foundation of the Center, which began its work on August 15, 2016.
The Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus celebrated a prayer service in the chapel in honor of the martyrs Vera, Nadezhda, Lyubov and their mother Sofia. Metropolitan Veniamin was assisted by the chairman of the Synodal Department for Church Charity and Social Service of the Belarusian Orthodox Church, Priest Roman Artyomov.
Lyudmila Bomberova, director of the Republican Clinical Center for Palliative Care for Children, staff, young patients and their parents prayed at the service.
At the end of the service, the Patriarchal Exarch addressed the audience with a word of edification. After that, the staff of the medical center were awarded with awards of the Belarusian Orthodox Church.
Lyudmila Bomberova, the director of the institution, thanked Metropolitan Veniamin for caring for the staff and patients, as well as all those who over the years have improved the chapel and spiritually supported the palliative center.
In conclusion, Metropolitan Veniamin visited the patients' rooms and talked with the parents of young patients and the staff of the palliative care center.
The Republican Clinical Center for Palliative Care for Children has been cooperating with the Belarusian Orthodox Church for many years. For 7 years, the institution has been spiritually supported by the chairman of the Synodal Department for Church Charity and Social Service of the Belarusian Exarchate, Priest Roman Artyomov.
Divine Liturgy is celebrated weekly in the chapel of the Center, and spiritual support is provided to the wards of the center, their families and friends, as well as to the medical staff.
