On June 1, 2026, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, a religious procession will be held in the center of Moscow, dedicated to the memorial day of the Blessed Grand Duke Dmitry Donskoy.
The organizer of the Dmitrievsky March is the All—Russian social movement Forty Sorokov.
The celebrations will begin with the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Saviour of the Uncreated Image of the Patriarchal Compound of the temples of the Andronikov Monastery in Moscow. At the end of the service, the faithful will march in a procession to the monument to the Blessed Prince Dimitry Donskoy, located in the park at the intersection of Nikoloyamskaya and Yauzskaya streets. A festive prayer service will be held with the reading of the akathist, and flowers will be laid at the monument.
Andrey Kormukhin, the coordinator and founder of the All-Russian public movement "Forty Sorokov", says in an address: "On June 1, the memorial day of the Holy Prince Dimitri Donskoy, we are going to a religious procession. For the sake of prayer for Russia, for the people and for our future. We finally succeeded after 10 years of effort. His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia gave his blessing to the celebration, and the Mayor's Office approved the St. Demetrius Cross procession from the Savior Andronikov Monastery to the monument to St. Demetrius of Donskoy on June 1. We will be glad to see you all!"
The organizers emphasize that the event is prayerful and conciliar in nature. At a time when Russia is going through a time of severe trials, turning to the spiritual roots and exploits of its ancestors is designed to strengthen the inner unity and bond of generations. Participation in the procession is open: families with children, married couples, the elderly, friendly and working groups are invited.
