Archbishop Nikanor of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Kuril Islands consecrated the chapel in honor of St. Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra, in the building of the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk airport complex on July 30. Ruslan Stepanets, General Director of the terminal, attended the service.
Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Airport opened its doors to passengers in 2023, becoming the largest aviation harbor in the Far East. The chapel in the terminal building appeared thanks to the joint initiative of Archbishop Nicanor and the terminal management.
