On July 30, 2026, on the territory of the church of the Holy Martyr Grand Duchess Elizabeth in the village of The opening of the Eurasian Orthodox Youth Forum "Heaven. Human. Steppe", organized with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
The central theme of the youth congress is "Modern technologies and artificial intelligence: challenges and opportunities for humans and society in the light of the Christian worldview."
The forum is attended by over 500 people — delegates from all dioceses of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan Area, leaders and members of diocesan and parish youth assets responsible for organizing youth and educational work, experts on public, religious and social issues, as well as guests from Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The Congress was organized by the Youth Affairs Commission of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District and the Orthodox Youth Movement of the Astana Diocese with the support of the Eleos-Meirim Public Foundation (President — V.M. Kapsamun).
The main goals and objectives of the congress are: strengthening spiritual ties between Orthodox youth from different countries; developing youth ministry in the dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church; sharing experience in implementing youth projects; promoting spiritual and moral education of young people; forming an active lifestyle based on evangelical values; discussing current challenges of modern society; understanding the impact of modern technologies, including artificial intelligence, on humans, society, and spiritual life; development of inter-diocesan and international cooperation in the field of youth ministry.
The congress opened with a prayer service before the beginning of every good deed performed by Vladyka Alexander. Then the anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan was played.
Metropolitan Alexander addressed the organizers and participants of the youth forum. "One of the main topics of our forum is the discussion of the role of artificial intelligence in individual and social life. Humanity is actively developing digital technologies. The Church is obliged to evaluate this phenomenon from the point of view of Evangelical teaching. Technical discoveries are the result of the action of God's gift in people, the revelation of creative talents. They are morally neutral. They can bring both benefit and harm to society. A knife in the hands of a surgeon can save a person's life, while at the same time, in the hands of a robber, it can lead to completely different results. Modern information technologies can make a person's life easier, but they can also become an instrument of insult, robbery, and even destruction if they end up in criminal hands. I would like to encourage you to appreciate the personal experience of real communication with people, not virtual. In no case should you immerse yourself in them so that the smartphone screen blocks other opportunities for you to see the world and each other," said, in particular, the bishop. His Eminence called for God's blessing on the work of the forum and wished the audience fruitful work and blessed success in their good works and noble endeavors.
After welcoming remarks, Hieromonk Filaret (Zubov) presented awards and tokens of the Synodal Department for Youth Affairs to the leaders of the youth Orthodox movement of Kazakhstan.
Priest Georgy Rublinsky thanked the head of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District and the speakers, after which he presented the program of events of the forum to the audience.
After that, the presentation of the participating teams of the international congress took place.
The Forum will continue its work until August 3. The organizers plan meetings with the hierarchs of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District, clergymen who are the authors of numerous educational projects, spiritual and educational lectures, discussions on issues relevant to the younger generation, intellectual quizzes, quests, master classes, sports competitions and board games.
There is a marching temple on the territory of the camp, where the delegates of the congress will perform a prayer rule.
Flagpoles with the flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the flags of the countries whose delegates are present at the forum, and the flag with the emblem of the Eleos-Meigim Public Foundation, the main benefactor of the Eurasian Forum, are installed next to the temple.
On August 1, the memorial day of St. Seraphim of Sarov, Metropolitan Alexander will celebrate the Divine Liturgy at the camp.
