With the blessing of Bishop Nikolai of Chernyakhovsky and Slavsky, a church center for difficult teenagers will be opened in the city of Gusev, Kaliningrad region (Chernyakhovskaya diocese). Teenagers who are in conflict with the law will be rehabilitated there. The prototype of the project was the St. Basil the Great Center in St. Petersburg. The new church center will start operating in the fall under the leadership of Priest Georgy Matveev. 
"It is a great responsibility to create such a project, so first Father Georgy Matveev and his wife Nadezhda came to us, to the St. Basil the Great Center, to see how everything works,— said Juliana Nikitina, director of the St. Basil the Great Center. — After some time, they decided to open the same center in Gusev. I must say that all this — the preparation of the community and law enforcement agencies, the search and training of specialists, the formation of a team and internships in St. Petersburg — is a very long and time-consuming process. I am glad that the training path that Father George and I went through is nearing completion."
The new church center for difficult teenagers will include a ceramic workshop, a music studio and a coffee shop, where teenagers will be able to master the professions of a ceramicist, a recording director and a barista. According to Juliana Nikitina, subsequently the number of directions for classes at the center will expand. 
"The problem of the teenage crisis is eternal, and in the modern world it is getting worse every year," added Juliana Nikitina. — The Church's job is to help a young man reach the future and not ruin his life. After all, it is at this age that the most crucial decisions are made. And when a person is not ready for these decisions, when he is in a difficult psychoemotional state, finding the hand of a responsible adult whom you can trust is the most important thing. With the opening of the new center, we will be able to help more teenagers who need support now."
Today, the St. Basil the Great Center is the only open non—profit organization in Russia that is an alternative to an educational colony or a closed educational institution for teenagers who have committed crimes. Here, teenagers who are in conflict with the law get a chance to get better without incarceration. 
In 2025, the Center turned 21 years old. It was established in 2004 by the parish of the church of Anastasia Uzoreshitelnitsa in the person of the rector, Priest Alexander Stepanov, who by that time had been rector of the church in the Kolpino educational colony for minors for more than ten years.
The organization's work is based on a social rehabilitation program developed by the Center's specialists with the assistance of the St. Petersburg judicial community. Teenagers between the ages of 14 and 19 come here by sentence or court order for a period of 9 months to 3 years — the district courts of St. Petersburg sentence teenagers without imprisonment with an additional obligation: to undergo rehabilitation at the St. Basil the Great Center.
During the work, 400 pupils underwent rehabilitation. Of all the teenagers participating in the Center's program, more than 85% do not commit repeat offenses.
