With the support of the Synodal Department for Church Charity and Social Service in Donetsk, the family creative workshop "Together" has started working at the church in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God "Vsetsarina". The project is being implemented by the Autonomous non-profit organization Mercy Donetsk Assistance Service. It is aimed at supporting the family, strengthening child-parent relations and creating a space for joint leisure.
The project became one of the winners of the second grant competition for church projects to support family, motherhood, fatherhood and childhood, which was held by the Synodal Department for Charity.
Classes in the workshop are held weekly for small groups. Under the guidance of mentors, participants are engaged in drawing, decorative and applied creativity, and learn new needlework techniques. The project's specialists provide psychological and counseling support to families, help parents and children find common ground and spend time usefully.
"The main thing in this space is not only creativity," said project manager Alina Reznichenko, "the goal is to enable families with children to spend more time together. Joint master classes help children build relationships with their parents and cope with anxiety. "Together" is, first of all, the time that parents and children spend with each other."
The Synodal Charity Department allocated 500,000 rubles for the project. The funds were used to purchase materials and equipment for the workshops, as well as to pay for the work of specialists.
The second competition of church family projects was held by the Synodal Department for Charity from April 16 to May 3. It received 53 applications from different regions of the country. After consideration by the competition committee, 24 winners were determined.
