The Thai Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church has once again extended its humanitarian efforts, this time delivering aid to families in the Lao People's Democratic Republic. According to the Southeast Asia Patriarchal Exarchate's Telegram channel, the charity team from the Church's Department for Charitable and Social Services distributed humanitarian packages to residents of Nongbua village in the Phonhong district of Vientiane province.

Under the blessing of Metropolitan Sergius of Singapore and Southeast Asia, the Patriarchal Exarch of Southeast Asia, and the interim head of the Thai Diocese, the aid was directed primarily to local schoolchildren and their families facing difficult living conditions. The relief packages included clothing, shoes, long-lasting food products such as canned fish and instant noodles, and other essential items.

In total, more than 80 people in the village received support through this initiative.

This latest act of charity follows an earlier effort on November 20, when the Orthodox community of St. Alexander Nevsky Parish in Vientiane, with the support of the Russian House, provided educational materials to nine schools in Laos that teach the Russian language. This ongoing support from the Russian Orthodox Church in Southeast Asia highlights its commitment to fostering solidarity and assisting those in need in the region.

The Thai Diocese's charity work continues to build bridges between communities, offering both material support and educational resources to help improve the lives of people in Laos.
