On September 9-11, 2026, the ark with the right hand of St. Spyridon of Trimifunt was brought to Chelyabinsk.
The shrine was brought to the Southern Urals on the evening of September 9 from Khabarovsk. The ark with the relics is accompanied by a representative of the Greek delegation from the island of Corfu, Archimandrite Christodoulos (Triantafilos). Metropolitan Alexy of Chelyabinsk and Miass and Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Alexey Texler met St. Spyridon's right hand at the ramp of the plane.
A short prayer service to St. Spyridon was held at the Igor Kurchatov Airport, attended by the head of Chelyabinsk, Alexei Loshkin, and the head of the Interior Ministry of the region, Sergei Kosmachev. Then the shrine was transported to the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ.
On the square in front of the cathedral, the shrine was greeted by the military band of the Chelyabinsk garrison, cadets of the Chelyabinsk Higher Military Aviation School of Navigators, bishops and numerous clergy of the Chelyabinsk Metropolis, citizens and pilgrims. 
Metropolitan Alexy performed a prayer service to St. Spyridon. The liturgical hymns were performed by the Bishops' male choir "Axios". Secretary of the Chelyabinsk Diocese Archpriest Igor Shestakov read out the Patriarchal Address in connection with the bringing of the right hand of St. Spyridon of Trimifunt to the borders of the Russian Orthodox Church. At the end of the service, the ark was carried in a procession to the lower church of the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ.
During the stay of St. Spyridon's right hand in Chelyabinsk, tens of thousands of people worshiped the shrine — the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ, where the shrine was located, was open around the clock; night and morning Liturgies were performed by the episcopal order, and the akathist to the saint was constantly read. More than 130 volunteers were on duty at the ark and helped to ensure order.
According to the law enforcement agencies of the Chelyabinsk region, by 17.00 on September 11, the number of believers worshiping the shrine amounted to 51 thousand people.
On the evening of September 11, Metropolitan Alexy of Chelyabinsk and Miass, Bishop Zosima of Magnitogorsk and Verkhneuralsky, Bishop Pavel of Troitsk and Yuzhnouralsky, and Bishop Seraphim of Zlatoust and Satka celebrated a prayer of thanksgiving in the lower church of the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ.
"The moment has come when the greatest shrine of the Orthodox world, the right hand of St. Spyridon of Trimifunt, is leaving us," Metropolitan Alexy said in his sermon. — In almost two days, several tens of thousands of people venerated the shrine. People asked for grace—filled help, not only in arranging their earthly affairs, but also for Saint Spyridon to lead them to Christ with his right hand, as he led his flock, as he leads many people to Christ today. Through the prayers of St. Spyridon, may the Lord send a blessing on our city, on this holy temple, on all of us."
The bishop thanked everyone who had worked hard these days so that the faithful could worship at the shrine. Vladyka Alexy, on behalf of all the faithful of the Southern Urals, expressed gratitude to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and Metropolitan Nectarius of Kerkyra, who blessed the bringing of St. Spyridon's right hand to Russia.
Metropolitan Alexy thanked Governor Alexei Texler and the head of Chelyabinsk, Alexei Loshkin, for their help in organizing the bringing of the shrine, and also expressed gratitude to the delegation of the Greek Orthodox Church, through whose efforts the ark with the shrine was delivered to Chelyabinsk.
After the prayer service, the clergy and residents of Chelyabinsk went out to see off the right hand of St. Spyridon of Trimifunt. The townspeople knelt, and the bishops carried the shrine over them, blessing everyone who came to pay homage to St. Spyridon. The next city to receive the shrine will be Yekaterinburg.
