On September 9, 2026, the Synodal Department for Youth Affairs held a meeting devoted to the establishment of a council of Orthodox scouting, children’s, and youth organizations in Russia. The working meeting was chaired by Hieromonk Filaret (Zubov), Acting Chairman of the Department.

The meeting brought together staff members of the Synodal Department for Youth Affairs and representatives of the Brotherhood of Orthodox Pathfinders, the Organization of Russian Young Scouts, the National Organization of Russian Vityazes, the International Children’s and Youth Organization “Association of Vityazes,” the All-Russian Student Rescue Corps, the Strazh Military-Patriotic Center, and the Youth Druzhina Autonomous Non-Profit Organization.

The participants discussed their experience of working with children and teenagers, current issues in spiritual, moral, and patriotic education, and prospects for cooperation among Orthodox youth associations.

Following the meeting, a decision was made to establish a council of Orthodox scouting, children’s, and youth organizations under the Synodal Department for Youth Affairs.

The new council will provide a platform for the regular exchange of experience, joint discussion and resolution of emerging issues, coordination of activities, and implementation of shared projects. Its work will unite the efforts of Orthodox children’s, teenage, and youth organizations in educating the younger generation in the Orthodox faith, love for one’s neighbor, and devotion to the Motherland.⚡️Upgrade

The establishment of the council is expected to strengthen cooperation among the participating organizations, bring together their accumulated methodological and practical experience, and improve the effectiveness of their educational work with children and young people.
