Priest Pavel Maksimets, rector of the Church of the Ascension of the Lord in the village of Plastunovskaya, attended an event at school No. 6 dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the birth of the enlightener of Kuban, Priest Kirill Rossinsky. The day before, this Plastunov school was named after the archpriest of the Black Sea Cossack Army, scientist and poet Kirill Vasilyevich Rossinsky.
He made an invaluable contribution to the cause of education in the Kuban, with his participation 27 Orthodox churches and many educational institutions were opened. Father Kirill also became the founder of the Kuban Military Choir (now the Kuban Cossack Choir). It is noteworthy that in the Yekaterinodar district School there is a portrait of K. V. Rossinsky, on which his hand is inscribed "Aliis inserviendo consumer", which in Latin means "Serving others, I waste myself". This was the life position of this extraordinary man – to live for the benefit of people and his Fatherland.
Father Pavel Maksimets addressed the teachers, students and guests of the festive event with a congratulatory speech.
"You have not only the hero of this school, but this hero is the father, because he is a priest. We turn to the father when there is such an inner need, when you need a loved one to listen to you. I believe that Father Kirill lived this life sacredly. He has not yet been canonized, but work is underway in this regard. In the recent past, the name of Father Kirill was forgotten, but now it is very pleasant to know that the anniversary of his birth has come, and the school already bears his name," said Priest Pavel Maksimets.
