Missionary and catechetical courses of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa have been opened in the Dar es Salaam suburb of Kisarawa (Tanzania). The courses will train parish catechists and candidates for ordination to the priesthood.
The first group includes eight students from Tanzania and Kenya.
On October 1, 2026, a prayer service was held, after which the training began. Classes are held in Swahili.
Among the teachers are both local clerics, the dean of the Central Church District of Tanzania, Archimandrite Zachariah (Mulingua), the confessor of the Northern and Central Deaneries of Tanzania, Archimandrite Filaret (Kimaro), the rector of the parish of Equal—to-the-Apostles Nina in Kisarawa, Priest Konstantin Shoki, and a teacher from Russia, A.V. Lyulka.
