In this brief video from two years ago, President Putin is shown being given a tour of the  Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ - the main temple of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the museum complex "Memory Road" in the Military—Patriotic Park "Patriot" near Moscow. He was accompanied by Patriarch Kirill and Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu.

Notice how President Putin stops to do the things so familiar to all Orthodox Christians everywhere;  lighting a candle, and tenderly reverencing the beautiful icons. He then takes part in a memorial prayer service, his visit coinciding with the Day of Remembrance and Mourning commemorating the 79th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, what is referred to in the West as the beginning of Operation Barbarossa, the shock Nazi German invasion of the then Soviet Union, in World War 2.

Let us remember that while some people influential on the world stage, like Brigitte Macron, wife of French President Emmanuel Macron, shockingly wish to pervert holy things, such as rebuilding the spire of Notre Dame in a phallic shape complete with pseudo-testes, President Putin reverently respects the holy things, crossing himself, and kissing them gently. Who would you rather be in control?

It’s a peaceful and surprisingly moving video. Definitely worth a watch.
