The Orthodox Church in America (OCA) has held its first-ever nationwide gathering for clergy wives, bringing together 33 participants from eight dioceses for four days of spiritual renewal, fellowship, and mutual support.

The retreat took place at the Antiochian Village Conference and Retreat Center in Pennsylvania, according to the Orthodox Church in America.

The event focused on spiritual renewal, overcoming emotional burnout, and strengthening the support network for women whose husbands serve in ordained ministry. The program featured lectures, shared prayers, group discussions, and opportunities for participants to exchange experiences and practical advice.

Organizers said the gathering was designed to help clergy wives deepen their spiritual lives, build lasting relationships with one another, and develop practical strategies for balancing family responsibilities, parish life, and personal well-being.

The nationwide meeting marks the latest step in a new initiative by the OCA to expand support for clergy families. Earlier this year, the church introduced its first dedicated program for clergy wives during the Southern Diocese Pastoral Conference in February. The Pennsylvania gathering represents the first event of its kind on a church-wide level.

The Orthodox Church in America includes more than 680 parishes, monasteries, missions, and church institutions across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. In recent years, church leaders have pointed to growing interest in Orthodox Christianity while emphasizing the importance of strengthening pastoral care and support for clergy and their families.
