On the memorial day of St. Seraphim of Sarov, August 1, the chairman of the Missionary Department of the Ivanovo-Voznesenskaya Diocese, Priest John Lvov, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the ruined church of St. George the Victorious in the village of Egoriy, Ivanovo region.
After the Liturgy, a festive meal was organized.
The brick church in the estate of Knyazhevo, Vladimir province (now the village of Egoriy, Ivanovo region) was built in 1814 instead of the former wooden church at the expense of parishioners, landowners P. I. Shishelov and D. D. Koblukova, and mainly through the efforts of the owner of the neighboring estate, the hero of the Patriotic War of 1812, Lieutenant General E. I. Vlastov, who later He was buried near the altar.
After the Soviet persecution of the church, the temple was not destroyed, but lost the bell tower and the heads. The roof of the refectory and the altar were destroyed in the 1980s.
Currently, the church building is in a ruined state, repair and restoration work is required.
