On November 25, 2025, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia took part in the opening ceremony of the V Congress of the Society of Russian Literature and the International Pedagogical Congress "The Word of Historical Truth", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The ceremony took place in the Lomonosov Building of Lomonosov Moscow State University. Before the event, the rector of Moscow State University, V.A. Sadovnichy, met the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church at the entrance to the building. Russian Russian Literature Society Chairman, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Congress, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Literature Society, V.A. Sadovnichy, took their seats in the presidium after entering the conference hall.
The ceremony was attended by: Minister of Education of the Russian Federation S.S. Kravtsov; Rector of Moscow Pedagogical State University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences A.V. Lubkov; President of the Russian Academy of Education O.Y. Vasilyeva; Rector of Moscow State Linguistic University I.A. Kraeva; teachers and students of Moscow State University, numerous participants of the congress.
His Holiness the Patriarch addressed the audience with a speech dedicated to the conversation about the moral meanings that the memory of the events of the Great Patriotic War carries and about the educational value of the examples of courage, valor and self-sacrifice shown by the defenders of the Motherland at the front and in the rear.
Then the rector of Moscow State University, V.A. Sadovnichy, made a report on the work of the Society.
Then the award ceremony for the winners of the International Competition "Echo of the Great Victory in the CIS" took place. The awards were presented by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and V.A. Sadovnichy. 
Then the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation S.S. Kravtsov addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.
After the speech by the Minister of Education, Rector of Moscow State University V.A. Sadovnichy thanked His Holiness Patriarch Kirill for his contribution to the work of the Society of Russian Literature.
