On September 26, 2025, on the feast day of Saint John the Theologian, Archbishop John of Tirana, Durres, and All Albania celebrated his name day for the first time as the Primate of the Albanian Orthodox Church. The festive Divine Liturgy took place at the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Tirana, led by Archbishop John himself, with the participation of members of the Holy Synod, including Metropolitan Nicholas of Apollonia and Fier, Metropolitan Anthony of Elbasan, Metropolitan Nafanail of Gjirokastër, and Metropolitan Anastasios of Korçë, along with clergy from across Albania.

After the service, Archbishop John received congratulations from government officials, representatives of various religious communities, and numerous believers, particularly among the youth, as noted by the Albanian Orthodox media outlet Radio Ngjallja.

Congratulations were sent by the heads of Local Orthodox Churches, including Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, Patriarch Daniel of Romania, and Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem.

In his message, Patriarch Kirill emphasized that Archbishop John "humbly and lovingly bears the difficult cross of the Primatial ministry and performs the sacred act of proclaiming God's word on the blessed land of Albania." The Russian Patriarch wished him peace, health, and the strengthening of both spiritual and physical strength.

Patriarch Daniel of Romania highlighted the spiritual significance of the feast day of Saint John the Theologian and conveyed congratulations on behalf of the entire Holy Synod and the faithful of the Romanian Orthodox Church: "We pray that the Savior Jesus Christ grants Your Beatitude abundant gifts and blessings."

Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem referenced the words of Saint Cyril of Alexandria regarding humility as the foundation of true pastoral care and expressed confidence that Archbishop John would continue to "carry out his ministry for the salvation of the entrusted flock." He concluded with an archpastoral greeting "from the All-Holy and Life-Giving Tomb of the Lord" and assured that he remembers the Archbishop's name during the Divine Eucharist.

Pope Leo also sent his congratulations, expressing hope that the Archbishop's ministry would inspire the faithful to emulate the Apostle John. "I pray that Almighty God blesses you and the flock entrusted to you with an abundance of spiritual gifts," he wrote, adding that the Albanian Church, along with the entirety of Christianity, continues its path toward reconciliation and the restoration of unity.
