On August 10, two processions were held in Zaraysk, dedicated to the commemorative date marking the transfer of the icon of St. Nicholas from Chersonesus to Zaraysk..

One group of procession participants began their prayer procession from the Smolensk Church in the village of Karino, where a patronal feast was celebrated in honor of the Smolensk Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos. The Divine Liturgy was celebrated by the rector of the church, Archpriest Mikhail Sokrutov. After the double litany, a prayer for Holy Russia was offered. Following the communion verse, Father Mikhail addressed the praying people with a pastoral word. At the end of the service, a glorification of the Most Holy Theotokos was performed, and a procession around the church took place. Then, after a common meal, the procession set off from the church to the Zaraysk Kremlin.
Another part of the procession participants began the procession from the church of Saint Blessed Matrona of Moscow in the village of Chulki‑Sokolovo.
Residents of Zaraysk and Kolomna, as well as students of the military‑patriotic club “Peresvet,” took part in the religious processions. Both processions ended at the Zaraysk Kremlin, where they were greeted by the rector of St. Nicholas Cathedral in Zaraysk, the dean of the 1st Zaraysk deanery district, Archpriest Pyotr Spiridonov.
