On August 13, 2026, the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Metropolitan Konstantin of Cairo and North Africa, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the parish of Saint Gregory the Theologian in the village of Ngarendare (Meru deanery) in Kenya.
His Eminence was co‑served by the dean of the district, Priest Feoklit Kitindzhi, the rector of the parish, Priest Feofil Mvenda, and all the clerics of the deanery.
After the service, the bishop addressed the congregation with an archpastoral address, presented the parish with a lamp, and gave crosses and icons to all the worshippers.
After the Liturgy, Metropolitan Constantine blessed the foundation stone for the new future church in honour of Saint Gregory the Theologian.
The exarch then visited the parishes of the Nativity of John the Baptist in the village of Gitongo and the Holy Wonderworker Nicholas in the village of Kiambogo. The prelate spoke with the rectors and members of the community and presented the parishes with church icons.
On the same day, a general meeting of the clergy of the Meru deanery was held. Bishop Konstantin discussed with the clergy the activities of the parishes and the development of the mission in Kenya. With the support of donors from Russia, all the clergy were given motorcycles and cows for pastoral and family needs.
