As part of the International Youth Festival, which started on September 11, 2026 in Yekaterinburg, an Orthodox chapel has been equipped, Metropolitan Evgeny of Yekaterinburg and Verkhotursky told his max channel.
""Yesterday, September 13, 2026, immediately after seeing off the great Christian shrine of St. Spyridon of Trimifunt, which was in the Ural capital, at Koltsovo airport, Metropolitan Evgeny of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye visited the site of the International Youth Festival "EXPO" and performed prayer singing in the Orthodox prayer room.  There are icons of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Most Holy Theotokos, as well as holy images of the heavenly patrons of the Urals — the Great Martyr Catherine, the righteous Simeon of Verkhoturye, the holy Royal family and the passion-bearing physician Eugene. A video clip with subtitles in English and Chinese is also being broadcast in the room, telling about the spiritual capital of the Urals — Verkhoturye — and other places associated with the Royal Family. 
Staff and volunteers from the diocesan departments of Missionary, Youth, and Religious Education and Catechesis are on duty in the Orthodox chapel, so that everyone can pray or ask questions about the Orthodox faith, and learn a lot about the Ural saints and the City of St. Catherine.
The room is open to all participants of the forum, regardless of religion.
Today, during his stay at the International Youth Festival "EXPO", Metropolitan Eugene also visited the exhibition halls, interactive areas, talked with participants of the IFM-2026 and representatives of the media community.
The International Youth Festival is taking place in the Ural capital from September 11 to 17, 2026. The forum brought together 10,000 participants from 191 countries. During the week, young leaders from all over the world will exchange ideas, seek solutions to global problems, and rediscover Russia and the Middle Urals in their free time.
