The seventh youth meeting of the Bishkek and Kyrgyzstan diocese was held on the basis of the Holy Spirit Church in Sokuluk. About 50 young people from several parishes of the Central Deanery took part in it.
The first day started with a check-in and an introduction, and then the guys took part in team-building games that helped identify leaders and rally. In the evening, after the service, a board game tournament was held: a traditional Cossack game of checkers, as well as the Kyrgyz national game, where it was necessary to score more balls than the opponent. The day ended with team performances and a big evening with folk games, dancing and fun.
On the second day, the participants of the rally began with the Divine Liturgy, and most of them took communion of the Holy Mysteries of Christ. After the service, the children participated in sports and national games: sword fighting, the traditional Cossack game of lyanga, a game of dice and knives, archery, walking and running on stilts. There was also a tongue twister contest, solving puzzles with proverbs and skits based on Russian folk tales. At the end, the winners of the tournaments were awarded and certificates were presented to all participants.
The event was attended by Bishop Savvaty of Bishkek and Kyrgyzstan. His Eminence noted the importance of the meetings for the spiritual and cultural development of young people, and stressed the importance of familiarizing them with the traditions of the Russian people and other peoples living in the republic. In conclusion, the bishop presented the youth department with a flag with the image of the Savior Not Made with Hands, symbolizing the spiritual unity and continuity of generations.
